The girls and I got back from Disneyland this afternoon. We walked countless miles, crammed so much food and fun into 3 days and now we all need a vacation from our vacation. Dave needs a vacation after the weekend too. He was so awesome with all 3 chillies. I came home to a pleasantly clean house, except for dirty dishes in the sink, which I totally understand. The kids told me all about their homemade pizza night on Friday, eating rice crispy treats and playing with water balloons outside with Dad. We all had a good Memorial Day weekend and it was rejuvenating for me to have a weekend away from home, just me and the girls. A Spa/Disney Parks weekend was the perfect way to celebrate the end of Denise's single life. 5 more days until the wedding.
I hadn't been to Disneyland in over 10 years and it has changed so much. We stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel right inside the park. It is stunning! I love mission and craftsman style furniture and that's the theme of the entire hotel. Lots of beautiful stained glass, metal work and cool angles everywhere too.
highlights of the trip:
*an almond milk bath and hand and foot fantasy (mani/pedicure) at Burke Williams Spa as soon as we arrived- I was a pedicure virgin until this trip. thanks Denise, it was awesome!
*dinner and entertainment at Medieval Times; the jousting and horses were amazing- dinner was so-so, too much meat/starch for one who eats vegetarian most the week. still worth it though. Go red and yellow knight! he was so nice to look at! ;)
* Uninterrupted sleep in a fabulous bed at the Grand Californian. My subconscious really took the Disney imagination spirit to heart because I had the strangest dreams the entire weekend.
* Tower of Terror, California Screamin' and Space Mountain
* experiencing Disney without diaper changes, strollers and tired kids was pretty relaxing
* Hangin' out with Dave's sisters- the sisters I never had growing up.
* Dinner at Blue Bayou and thanks a million Marci for treating us to dinner at the Vineyard Room. Oh My Gosh, the food was fantastic! especially my chocolate soufflé at Vineyard Room.
* ALL the food! We totally ate our way through the parks: a foot long corn-dog at the Corn Dog Castle, Churros, fresh, cold pineapple spears at least once a day, wedge salad, salmon and the cookie boat that I could barely take 3 bites of at Blue Bayou. The food was roll-us-out-of-the-restaurant rich and worth it all- except for $2.50 waters
Here's a few pictures from the weekend: Tori in the Vineyard Room- love the metalwork Marci- Me- and Tori at the start of our Disney adventure
