I must drink more water. It's easy for me to eat too much at home when my body is really thirsty. When I was working, many moons ago, I always had a bottle of water nearby and would drink a lot. Besides being super healthy for me it also staved off sugar and munchy cravings. Now that I'm home with two ravenous boys, that would eat all day long if they could, it is easy to eat more than I should. So here I sit with my new water bottle close by. Watch out fat, you're being slowly washed away.
Now if only I could eliminate my sweet tooth................

The only reason to watch the Oscars
is to see the beautiful dresses. Seriously. That would be the only thing I would be interested in- if I watched the Oscars. I can scan through the photos online for that. Sure, it's interesting to see what actors won top nods and what movie those yahoos that vote thought was the best, but I couldn't suffer through the hours of speeches and politics.
Since it is Oscar weekend I'm in the mood for a survey:
Name your all-time top five favorite movies. Top Gun, The Transporter, The Count of Monte Cristo, Krull and Frequency. That's quite a variety.
Who’s your favorite movie character? Indiana Jones
What movie do you love that most people hate? ;) not sure
What movie do you hate that most people love? Pulp Fiction comes to mind
What was the last movie you saw? in the theater- Pan's Labrinth- crazy, heavy movie with amazing visual effects. I still can't believe the loser in front of us had his 3-4 year-old daughter in that movie. jerk.
What’s your least favorite movie ever? Lost in Translation was the first to come to mind
What’s one movie have you seen that you would never ever watch again? Misery
What was the last DVD you saw? The Prestige, awesome flick. I have to watch it again to put all the pieces together.
What was the first DVD you remember buying? Probably a Disney movie
What movie do you relate to more than any other? Meet Joe Black, i cry every time i see it
What actor/actress would you like to look like? Kate Beckinsale
What classic movie have you never seen? Casablanca
What song would you choose be the theme song to the movie of your life story?
What’s your favorite movie genre? i go between action/suspense and romantic comedy
Who’s your favorite actor/actress? Hugh Jackman/Sandra Bullock
What actor/actress do you refuse to see their movies? easy! any recent Tom Cruise (the guy's a freakin' loon who I disagree with on most points, I just can't stomach him anymore), Sharon Stone, Eddie Murphy (although I might see Dreamgirls because it's different from his usual crap), Sean Penn
What genre would you choose not to watch? Horror- I'm such a chicken and can't stand too much blood/gore
What’s your favorite theater concession combo? maybe popcorn and Sprite but it's too flippin' expensive so I sneak in my own treats. Sssssshhhhhhhh! Usually some form of chocolate, Swedish Fish or a sucker and water
Front row, Back row, Side Seats, Aisle or center? Center, top section about half-way down. That's the sweet spot for maximum movie enjoyment!

I got 8 hours of sleep last night. Feels so good! Now if I could only pull myself away from projects before midnight every night that would happen more often.
The power went out a few nights ago at 10:45 PM. Dave and I were in our usual spots unwinding- him curled up on the couch next to me sitting at the computer surfing blogs and whatever my mind wandered to. All of the sudden the computer tower clicked off and............ darkness. So what if we missed the tv show we were watching. Plan B was better. Candlelit shower (before the tenants used all the hot water, selfish, I know), quiet time with Dave, and then the candles moved to our bedroom. It's probably a good thing we are usually separated by a few feet each night with all those electrical things to keep our attention. Otherwise, we might have even more kids that we do right now. ;) (In our case, even with birth control, it's the law of averages baby!)

chinese water torture
It's not unusual to find me typing away, editing photos or vegging on the couch watching a flick at 1-2 in the morning. So last night when Dave finally gave in and went to bed at 2 I was still up. I fell asleep on the couch, crawled in bed next to Dave around 4:30 AM and was instantly annoyed with what sounded like a car alarm going off at the condo's behind us. I was so tired I fell right back asleep, but that stupid noise woke me up at 7 AM! Sleep between 7 and 8 AM is sacred because Coop rarely sleeps in past 8. I was pissed.
Dave always teases me that I have an over reactive hypothalamus. I can't stand repetitive sounds no matter how small they are. Most people's brains tune them out but not mine. So when this awful, high-pitched alarm kept going until 3 PM it was like someone tapping on my forehead as fast as they could.........for 8 freakin' hours.
I did get a respite from the screaming banshee for an hour when Dave, the boys, and I drove down to check out a possible practice. The verdict? Kinda small, but in a good location and close enough for Dave to bring his current patients there. We'll see. The way the job hunt has been going we aren't banking on anything until it is final. *sigh* Such a roller coaster ride this finding a job after school thing has become.
Dave is so awesome. He had a busy day today and is meeting with 2 docs as we speak at the practice we checked out this morning. They even have an offer on the table from another doc but waited to meet and talk with Dave before they accepted anything. Very cool. Maybe our prayers are finally being answered.

happy photo day
It was a good camera day. I actually took some time to snap photos of the little things that brightened my day. Sometimes I think about taking photos all day and sometimes I don't want to touch the camera at all. Weird how that works.
Note to self: must make more cards to have on hand. This was a great last minute addition to fresh snickerdoodles for a friend. I didn't even have time to dig out an envelope the right size and I kinda like the card tied right on.
I love, love, LOVE this necklace (with matching bracelet). My sis-in-law Denise brought it back from Portugal for me. I really must find more things to go with it so I can wear it more often.
Silly chillies!
That is so Toby- always making funny faces with his eyes closed. He is a little sprite, a burst of happy energy, running around me in circles daily. He is the best at telling Mom and Dad he loves us right when we need it (and we need it a lot lately). This boy comes up with the best one liners. His new phrase is Tarter Sauce except he says it so fast it sounds like Tar Sauce. For example, "Toby, can you please pick up your toys before you go outside?" "Oh, Tar Sauce!"
Our sweet little J has lost 3 teeth in the last month and we tease that she is our Jessie Jack-O-Lantern. She still loves her ponies and kitties. We went through a small crisis recently when she realized that her beloved Chippy the kitty whom she has loved for years had gone missing. We have no idea where Chippy is. It didn't take Dad long to hunt another Chippy down on e-bay. It's sitting in a box on our closet shelf as I type. J will probably find Chippy #2 in her Easter basket.
Mr. Cooper- that kid is trouble with a capital T. This is typical Coop doing his own thing. He learned a new skill this week. He now unlocks the front door and opens it all by himself. The kid can barely reach the lock to turn it yet his little legs bolt themselves right outside quicker than I can say BOO. I gotta get in the habit of locking the deadbolt. He also has the annoying 2 year-old habit of asserting his independence by yelling NO at every request or direction from Mom and Dad. I hope he grows out of it soon.
